Student Conferences

The TISE Student Conferences are a vital element of the program’s commitment to public communication and knowledge exchange. They not only extend the reach of TISE beyond academia but also ground the program in real-world contexts, fostering dialogue between students, researchers, practitioners, and the broader public.

Organized entirely by students, these conferences provide a space for comprehensive knowledge integration and collective reflection. Participants present and discuss topics related to complex societal transitions, sustainability, and innovation—bringing together diverse perspectives from across disciplines and sectors. The conferences also serve as a platform for communicating the results of the Transdisciplinary Field Research Training (TFRT), highlighting how theoretical learning is transformed into practical, solution-oriented outcomes.

We proudly acknowledge the dedication and creativity our students invest in these events. Their work strengthens not only their professional development but also the ongoing evolution of the TISE Program itself.

The most recent conference, exploring the future of the space sector in relation to systems thinking and sustainability was held on 4 December 2025. The conference gathered nearly 100 participants from all around the world, reflecting the growing international community engaged with TISE’s mission of transdisciplinary education.
