Dr Marguerite Barry is one of the academic directors of TISE. As one of your contact persons at UCD she takes care of the organisation of the Program on site. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information and Communication Studies, UCD – research interests include ethics in technological design, technology and wellbeing and discourses on technology on science, technology and society (STS).

UCD Global Experience
UCD Global steers and guides the global strategies of the university, providing expert leadership in partnerships and engagement, international student recruitment and support, inbound and outbound mobility, and the international elements of the student experience.
Leveraging relationships with external stakeholders, UCD Global works at the interface of the university and the international community. It supports university leaders to shape policy, works with Colleges/Schools and other support units to ensure delivery, and liaises with students and staff to measure success and impact.

Immigration supports
If you are coming to study in UCD and are a non EU/EEA/non Swiss national, you will need to follow the student immigration path to be compliant with the local immigration legislation and policy guidelines.

Modules
In the second semester students move to Ireland to UCD, for their the social science focus (“Ethics and Information Systems”) to deal with on Human Technology Interactions, information and ethical issues as well as social science research methodologies. At UCD a focus lies especially on ethics and
information systems:
• assessing the impact of socio-technological and transitional processes
• strengthening science-society relationships
The following courses will be offered during the second semester in Dublin:

Internship
All students of the TISE programme are required to complete an internship during their studies. The location and the topic of the internship can be freely chosen.
Students are invited to search for the internship placements according to their preferences and interests. For those students who have difficulties in finding the internship host, UCD in collaboration with the TISE network will suggest potential placements.

- Duration: Minimum of 6 weeks – from early May to September
- Credits: 5 ECTS
- Location: Anywhere in the world
- Host: At the choice of the student but should confirmed by Coordinators at UCD
